Dairsie was a fun find. We had read about it in a book dated 1993, with pictures of a completely ruined castle. Much to our surprise, the castle has been restored and apparently a private residence. No one was home when we went by but you can see the amount of repairs needed to complete this building.
According to history, Dairsie was the property and home of bishops and archbishops for St. Andrews. The castle appears to have been built in the 16th century. Excavations started on the site in 1993 and are now, obviously, done.
