Barr was built in 1520. There are remnants of a walled courtyard and
the top parapet has been knocked off for safety. All the windows and
doors are barred. The tower sits in a pasture overlooking Barr Loch.
There is a lintel above the entrance doorway with the
date of 1690 on it.
The tower has four floors and the remains of a parapet. The basement
contained the kitchen. First floor was the great hall while the remaining
two floors held two private chambers each.
